THE BIGGEST STORIES OF THE WEEK:

1) The Philadelphia 76ers made a move to bring in Kai Jones on a 10-day deal in order to add more depth to their big man spot in the time being without Joel Embiid.

2) Ben Simmons has had back surgery for the second time in three years, with he and the Brooklyn Nets hoping this procedure will provide the relief he needs to complete a full season.

3) Cam Whitmore missed Tuesday’s game in San Antonio with a sprain to the lateral collateral ligament (LCL) in his right knee. The team expects Whitmore to miss about three weeks of action, though head coach Ime Udoka said Tuesday it could be a shorter timetable, depending on how Whitmore’s knee responds.

4) Stephen Curry has an eye on a possible future in politics. While he may not end up running for president, don't be surprised if you see him holding an office in his community in the future.

5) The Orlando Magic agreed to a four-year extension with head coach Jamahl Mosley.

6) Otto Porter Jr., the No. 3 pick in the 2013 Draft and a member of Golden State's 2021-22 championship team, has announced his retirement after 11 NBA seasons. Otto Porter Jr. announced he's retiring: “For the past 11 years, I had the chance to live my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA,” said Porter Jr.

7) The Raptors announced Monday that Boucher suffered a partial MCL tear in his right knee in Saturday's 128-118 overtime loss to the Trail Blazers and will undergo further testing in the coming days, Kayla Grey of TSN reports. Boucher is without a timeline for a return.
