1) NBA commissioner Adam Silver is finalizing a contract extension that will likely keep him in his post up until 2030, ESPN reported Saturday night. A new deal would ensure that Silver still has oversight of the league as it works toward a new media rights deal and potential expansion

4) DeMarcus Cousins, who has been out of the NBA for more than a season, has signed a 10-day contract to play for the Taiwan Beer Leopards in the Taiwanese league. The team has confirmed this on their Facebook page, it was first reported stateside by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

5) Tristan Thompson suspended without pay for 25 games after violating NBA’s drug policy

6) The Miami Heat have added to their backcourt, picking up guard Terry Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets. In the trade, the Hornets are sending Rozier to the Heat for veteran guard Kyle Lowry and a 2027 first-round pick.

7) Kevin Porter Jr. has reached a plea deal in a New York City domestic assault case that will keep him out of jail if he completes a court-ordered treatment program and stays out of trouble.
